General Studies

  • GS- 175 Questions
  • Aptitude & Mental Ability - 25 Questions
  • TNPSC Group - I - Preliminary Exam - (Objective Type)

Stage - 1

  • General studies & Aptitude – Degree Standard
  • 200 Questions
  • Each question carries 1.5 Marks, totally 300 Marks
  • Duration 3 Hours
  • No Negative marks

Stage - 2

  • Main Exam - Descriptive Type
  • Total 4 Papers; Duration for each Exam – 3 Hours.
  • 1 Qualifying Papers (Compulsory Tamil Language)
  • 100 marks; 3 hours – SSLC Standard.
  • General Studies - 3 papers × 250 Marks = 750 Marks

Stage - 3

  • Personal Interview - 100 Marks

TNPSC Selection Process

The TNPSC (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission) selection process typically involves the following stages:

Group 1:

  • Preliminary Examination: This is a screening test with objective-type questions. Candidates need to qualify this stage to proceed to the next.
  • Main Examination: A descriptive exam includes Compulsory Tamil Language and General Studies. Candidates who pass the main exam are shortlisted for the next round.
  • Interview/Oral Test: This is the final stage where selected candidates are interviewed to assess their personality, knowledge, and suitability for the role.

Group 2 & 2A:
